Marble is known for its timeless elegance. But how should you clean a marble countertop?

Daily care

Clear up straight away to reduce the risk of stains and etching. Do not use abrasive tools or rough cloths, which can scratch the stone.

Acidic food and drink such as tomatoes, citrus fruit, soda, coffee, wine and vinegar can damage marble. Wipe up spills immediately while cooking. Chopping boards, coasters and silicone mats are simple ways to prevent damage.

Avoid on marble

  • Vinegar
  • Ammonia
  • Bleach
  • Acidic cleaners (lemon, orange…)
  • Scouring pads
  • Glass cleaner

Cleaning the countertop

Use a pH-neutral, non-abrasive soap in warm water. A spray bottle helps cover the surface evenly; wipe gently with a soft cloth.

Regular maintenance

Re-seal the countertop periodically as the manufacturer recommends. For light etching, use a marble polishing powder. For many stains, mix baking soda with a little water, apply it, cover for 12–24 hours, then wipe clean with a damp cloth.
